(WPHL) — A New Jersey man has been arrested and charged after DNA evidence confirmed that he broke into an elderly woman’s residence and sexually assaulted her.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor, 31-year-old Stephon Bullok was charged with aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, burglary, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and criminal restraint.

The incident allegedly happened on May 8 at 12:32 a.m. when officers from the Stratford Police Department were dispatched to the victim’s residence for a report of a home invasion burglary and sexual assault.

The 76-year-old female victim told police that she was asleep in her bedroom when a male allegedly entered her room, jumped on top of her, and held her down.

Bullok then allegedly placed a hand over her mouth, sexually assaulted the victim, and fled the residence.

During the initial investigation, DNA evidence was collected from the scene and submitted for laboratory testing.

On June 13, the New Jersey State Police laboratory notified police that Combined DNA
Index System (CODIS) results identified the defendant as the source of the DNA from the crime
scene.

Bullock was arrested on June 13 by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division and was taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
