CHICAGO — The Chicago Police Department is expected to announce Thursday the safety preparations in place ahead of the city’s Pride Parade this weekend.
A press conference is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. with CPD Supt. Larry Snelling, Deputy Director of Equity and Engagement Mike Milstein and 44th Ward Alderman Bennett Lawson.
The 54th annual parade will take place on Sunday. It will kick off at 11 a.m. from Sheridan and Broadway and march through the city’s landmark LGBTQ+ Northalsted neighborhood.
This year’s theme is “United in Pride.”
