CULLMAN, Ala.

A Center Point woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Cullman County on Tuesday. Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Ayanna A. Scott, 25.

Troopers said the wreck occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 24. They said Scott was fatally injured when the 2022 Chevrolet Malibu she was driving struck a 2020 Mack tractor-trailer driven by Wesley L. Rodgers, 53, of Hanceville.

After the initial impact, they said, the Chevrolet left the roadway and overturned. They said Scott was not using a seat belt at the time of crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 91 near County Road 509, approximately 6 miles south of Hanceville, in Cullman County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
