(WPHL) — A woman has been arrested after she stole a kitten from a pet store in Bensalem over the weekend.
45-year-old Madina Sherkulova was arrested for stealing a British Shorthaired kitten from the Pets Plus on 1336 Bristol Pike.
Sherkulova was caught on surveillance cameras entering the animal cage area with a large bag over her shoulder. She is then seen exiting the store with the kitten in the bag.
Bensalem Police identified Sherkulova, arrived at her residence, and were able to recover the kitten unharmed by using its implanted microchip.
Sherkulova was taken into custody and was charged with Retail Theft. Bensalem Police say Sherkulova also had an active arrest warrant for a previous retail theft in Bensalem.
She was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $150,000 bail.
