(WXIN/WTTV) — A Delaware County man has been sentenced to two years in prison after being convicted last month of child pornography possession.
Neil B. Cook, 59, of Albany, was convicted by a jury on May 30 of two counts of Possession of Child Pornography – both level 6 felonies. On Wednesday, Cook was sentenced to two years in prison and three years of probation.
Albany police began investigating Cook on Sept. 2, 2018, after a young family member reportedly found “images of young children completely nude” on his phone.
An adult family member reported the incident to police, who came to speak with Cook.
On scene, officers were shown a video taken of Cook’s phone screen that contained apparent child sex abuse materials.
However, when they went to search his phone, all of the photos were gone.
After further investigation by police, official charges were filed against Cook on May 14, 2019, in Delaware Circuit Court 4. His prison sentence was then imposed on Thursday, June 25, 2025, by Judge Timothy Hollems.
