Whether you’re into fireworks, parades, concerts, family-focused fun, or food — well, everyone’s into food — Chicagoland provides something for everyone during the Fourth of July holiday.
And the fun and festivities aren’t just limited to the Fourth itself.
While the majority of festivities and fireworks will be on Friday, July 4, this year, some Chicagoland municipalities have festivities beginning as early as this weekend, or running as late as Sunday, July 6.
Here’s a breakdown of Fourth of July festivities in and around Chicagoland this year, by the following regions: City of Chicago, north suburbs, northwest suburbs, south suburbs, southwest suburbs, west suburbs, Northwest Indiana, and near Chicagoland. Some regions are then further broken down by county.
And to make them easy to find, we also have our listings on the map below, color-coded by region. Just click on each tag for more information:
If you’re specifically searching for fireworks only, just look for the bold Fireworks listing under each municipality, if they have them.
Finally, this is by no means a complete listing for every Fourth of July event in and around Chicagoland. So if you have a Fourth of July event you would like added, for this year or in the future, just send an email to Mike Johnson at MJohnson@wgntv.com with the subject line Fourth of July Event. We’ll do our best to add it to the list.
