You can catch Round 1 of the NBA Draft tonight on WGNO

NEW ORLEANS — The first round of the NBA Draft will take place tonight at 7 p.m. on WGNO and ABC affiliates.

Coverage starts at 6:30 p.m.

The New Orleans Pelicans have three picks in this year’s draft, and as of right now, they will be picking 7th and 23rd tonight.

Several mock drafts suggest that if the Pelicans remain at No. 7 and draft, they could select players such as Duke center Khaman Maluach, Texas guard Tre Johnson, or Oklahoma point guard Jeremiah Fears.

Other reports have indicated interest in prospects like Rutgers’ Ace Bailey, and that the Pelicans would trade into the top three to select the 6’8 forward.

Bailey has declined several pre-draft workouts, and there is a chance he could fall to the Pelicans if they stay at No. 7.

There is a ton of intrigue surrounding the New Orleans organization after Joe Dumars and company sent CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk, and a future second-round pick to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey, and the 40th pick in this year’s draft.
