(KRON) — A minor allegedly led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase through Oakland in a stolen car on June 22.
Dashcam video provided by CHP shows a stolen white Honda Accord speeding away from an officer, who tried to pull the car over on Highway 24 near Martin Luther King Jr. Way at 1:10 a.m.
During the case, the car exited the freeway and three people ran from authorities on foot.
“The vehicle exited eastbound I-580 at Fruitvale Avenue, where three occupants fled on foot,” CHP said. “Two of the occupants were quickly located and taken into custody after they were both found hiding underneath a parked vehicle on Harold Street.”
A minor caught during the chase was determined to be the driver of the stolen car, CHP said.
“One of the occupants, a juvenile, was identified as the driver after officers discovered two key fobs to the stolen Honda in his pocket,” CHP said. “Officers also recovered a discarded bag nearby containing a loaded firearm.”
The minor was booked into the Alameda County Juvenile Detention Facility on multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, felony evading and several gun crimes.
