(KRON) — In honor of National Food Truck Day this Friday, Yelp released its 2025 list of the top 100 food trucks in the United States. The list featured five Bay Area food trucks, including two ranking in the top 10.
Two Vallejo-based food trucks cracked the top 100. Jojo’s Hot Chicken (San Jose) was the highest-rated food truck by Yelp. Here are the Bay Area food trucks on Yelp’s list:
Located at 1587 Kooser Road, the food truck serves fried chicken tenders and sandwiches. Jojo’s Hot Chicken is open Wednesday to Sunday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
According to Yelp, the taco truck can be found at 809 Broadway St. on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Located at 23rd Street and Treat Avenue, customers can find the truck in San Francisco’s Mission District. The business has been family-owned and operated since 2002. According to Yelp, they are only open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This Middle Eastern cuisine with a halal focus can be found at 700 Nebraska St., according to Yelp. Hours are from Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. — with the exception of Sunday (11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
According to its website, Joe’s Taco Shop has been around since 1991. The business is based at 1609 Morrill Ave. — although its location may vary. More information about hours and location can be found on its website or social media page.
Some of the most well-known Bay Area eateries started off as food trucks.
Filipino fusion Senor Sisig started serving its signature burritos out of a food truck in 2010; it now has four brick-and-mortar locations in the Bay Area. Korean-Japanese fusion Koja Kitchen debuted its food truck in 2011 before opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant in 2014.
