PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — Summer programs are up and running for the School District of Philadelphia.

Students celebrated the first day of summer camp at the Swenson Arts & Technology High School in Northeast Philadelphia on Monday. Kids from sixth to eighth grade will participate in week-long summer camps that prepare them for career and technical education programs in high school.

The district will also offer students from first through eighth grade summer camp activities and academic support in math and reading starting Tuesday.
