CHICAGO (WGN) — Chicago police are asking South Shore residents to be vigilant after a string of armed robberies.

In a community alert issued on Tuesday, June 22, CPD warned the public of multiple incidents in which two male offenders armed with guns announced a robbery, obtained the victim’s belongings, and ran off before being caught.

CPD listed the location, date, and time of the recent incidents:

  • 8000 block of S. Kingston Ave on June 17 at 8:03 a.m. (South Shore)
  • 7600 block of S. Colfax Ave on June 20 at 12:19 a.m. (South Shore)
  • 7600 block of S. Kingston Ave on June 21 at 8 a.m. (South Shore)
  • 7800 block of S. Kingston Ave on June 21 at 2:16 p.m. (South Shore)

According to police, the armed suspects had black handguns with drum-style magazines, and were in the age range of 18-20. The duo could be wearing black and gray hooded sweatshirts.
