Celebrity stylist Axel Rojas opens hair salon in Dallas

DALLAS (KDAF) — After styling icons like Madonna and the Kardashians, Venezuelan-born hairstylist Axel Rojas has officially opened the doors to his own salon, Love and Layers, in Dallas.

The boutique studio, located in North Dallas, specializes in high-end hair coloring—particularly blonding—and premium hair extensions, which are Axel’s signature services after years of refining his techniques on some of the world’s most photographed individuals.

“I create natural-looking sun-kissed color,” Axel says, “so when they leave, it looks like they spent a summer at the beach, not three hours in the salon.”

Axel’s journey reads like a modern American epic. After immigrating to the United States and later graduating from beauty school in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, he persisted through shutdowns, industry slowdowns, and economic uncertainty, eventually landing a position in Los Angeles assisting the longtime hairstylist of Madonna.

That job launched him into the upper echelon of celebrity styling, where he went on to work with other names like Nicole Scherzinger, members of the Kardashian family, and others.

“It was surreal,” he said. “One day I was assisting in a salon, and the next I was on set for music videos or styling hair for celebrities.”

After two years in Los Angeles, Axel made the leap to Dallas to start his next chapter, pouring his energy into sharpening his craft and expanding his business acumen to bring his vision to life.

“My passion for hairstyling comes from a deep-rooted love of fashion and art,” Axel added. “I offer a full range of services from cuts and colors to personalized treatments. Whether it’s precision cutting, styling, or detailed highlighting, every part of the service is personal to me. My goal is always to exceed expectations.”
