Brush Fire burns nearly an acre of St George park, now 100% contained
ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC4) — A brush fire at Confluence Park in St. George is now 100% contained and was likely human caused, Chief Robert Stoker with the St. George Fire Department told ABC4.com.
The incident happened at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24. The fire grew to around an acre. Chief Stoker said crews knocked down the fire quickly, but a mop-up took about three hours.

Crews found objects associated with a homeless camp and believe the fire to be human caused.

The fire took place in an area of the park situated near the meeting point of the Virgin River and Santa Clara River.
Aside from the burned willow at the site of the fire, no other damage to park property has been reported at this time.
