ALEXANDRIA, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – England Airpark and Alexandria International Airport (AEX) will
join other airports across North America in observing Airport Workers Day on June 25th across social media platforms.
This coordinated event highlights the vital contributions of airport personnel across all functions, including passenger services, facility maintenance, and operations.
According to the Airports Council International – North America, “U.S. airports contribute $115.4B in direct payroll, supporting 1.4 million on-airport workers representing every facet of airport operations and business management.” AEX alone is responsible for more than 2,200 direct and indirect jobs.
“Our AEX team is second to none,” states Director of Aviation and Deputy Director of Alexandria
International Airport and England Airpark Scott Gammel. “Passengers often tell us how easy and
efficient it is to fly AEX. While that is true, it doesn’t happen by chance. Our team works tirelessly around the clock and often behind the scenes – to ensure a safe, seamless, and smooth experience for our guests. We thank them for their commitment to safety and customer service.”
