MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Dogs, cats and all other pets in between can rejoice! The air conditioning has been restored at the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center.

On Monday, the shelter made an urgent announcement saying the facility was without air conditioning due to a system error and was urgently seeking fosters for the animals.

While the air conditioning may be restored, fostering the animals is still encouraged because the system must reset, and it can still take time for the indoor temperatures to return to normal levels, according to the shelter’s executive director, Caroline Hairfield.

“Whether it’s for this or other reasons, fostering actually saves lives,” she said.
