
LAGRANGE, Ga. (WRBL) — A woman was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault on Tuesday for attempting to hit another woman with a hatchet following a verbal altercation, according to the LaGrange Police Department.
According to LaGrange PD, around 11:30 on Tuesday, officers responded to a report of an assault that happened at 209 Darden Meadows Drive.
Officers began an investigation after arriving to the scene and it was revealed that two women had a verbal dispute which resulted in one of the ladies attempting to assault the other with a hatchet, but the victim was able avoid the attack.
LaGrange PD says the Criminal Investigation Division was notified, which led to them identifying 62-year-old Connie Irwin as the suspect in the attempted attack. Irwin was eventually taken into custody by officers for aggravated assault.
