SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Monday, Utah! A disturbance situated to our north and west is producing some scattered cloud cover across northern Utah, otherwise partly sunny and cool conditions remain across the northern parts of Utah.
Daytime highs on Monday will only be in the mid to upper 70s to near 80 across the region. Across central and southern Utah, plenty of sunshine remains the normal, but fairly widespread smoke and haze will continue to spread across the region leading to hazy conditions and poor air quality.
High temperatures across the south will remain in the 80s to low 90s. These numbers will remain below average for this time of the year.
Tuesday will feature a rinse and repeat forecast for the region. Across the north, look for a mix of clouds and sunshine for the area with a spotty shower chance across far northern Utah. High temperatures will remain at or below average for most of the Beehive state.
Down south, more haze and smoke will be likely as gusty SW winds continue to spread smoke and haze north and east through Tuesday afternoon.
Red Flag Warnings are in effect for portions of Uintah and Grand counties for critical fire conditions that could lead to any sparks spreading fast in this area.
Things begin to return to normal by the middle of the week as the Jetstream begins to lift north, eventually spreading more heat our way. Highs will be back in the upper 80s for the Wasatch Front and upper 90s for SW Utah.
We will jump into the triple digits again for southern Utah to wrap up the week into the upcoming weekend. High temperatures will return to the upper 90s for the Wasatch Front.
Rain chances will remain slim-to-none as the ridge of high pressure expands across the Lower 48, meaning lots of sunshine and elevated fire concerns through the weekend.
