Surfer rescued after becoming stranded off Oregon’s Indian Beach

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A surfer was rescued Sunday afternoon after becoming stranded off of Indian Beach, Cannon Beach Fire District announced.

Rescue crews responded to an initial report of two stranded surfers on rocks at 1:30 p.m., launching two jet skis and a rescue swimmer to help.

By 2 p.m., officials said crews made contact with the surfer, who was evaluated by medical personnel once they reached the beach. The scene was cleared by 2:30 p.m.

It is not clear what led up to the rescue.
