DENVER, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call from a Home Depot organized retail crime investigator advising that they had information about the sale of a stolen tractor.
The investigator discovered that the sale of a stolen Kubota tractor had occurred at the Murphy’s Express gas station on June 11.
The Kubota tractor was stolen from a Home Depot department store in Asheville. The tractor was valued at over $19,000.
After reviewing surveillance footage from the business and working with law enforcement agencies in North and South Carolina, it was determined that the Kubota tractor was still located in Denver, North Carolina.
Through collaboration with Home Depot retail theft investigators, the stolen Kubota tractor was recovered.
The parties responsible are still under investigation, and authorities say charges are forthcoming.
