Original Story
AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Sen. Bernie Sanders is stopping at several cities for his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, with Amarillo one of the many cities on his tour.
The event took place at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts, with live music by Huy Forsyth. During his stops in Texas, including here in Amarillo and also in Fort Worth, Sen. Sanders was joined by Beto O’Rourke and U.S. Representative Greg Casar. Rep. Casar also joined Sen. Sanders at his stop in McAllen.
According to officials with Sen. Sanders, 15 of the 19 stops have targeted Republican-held congressional districts. Officials added that more than two-thirds of the new sign-ups received are new to Sen. Sanders’ list, with about a third of them not registered Democrats.
According to officials, the tour has attracted the largest crowds in Sen. Sanders’ history.
Before the event, we talked with Dan Rogers, Potter County Republican Chair, and Randall County Democratic Chair Karmyn Seaberg. You can watch the full interview with both Rogers and Seaberg here.
