BURR RIDGE, Ill. — A rollover crash involving a semi-truck along the Stevenson Expressway caused some backups for drivers during rush hour on Tuesday morning.
The crash unfolded just after 6 a.m. Tuesday on the inbound lanes of I-55 near County Line Road in Burr Ridge.
While it remains unclear what led to the crash, the semi-truck appeared to be the only vehicle involved.
Skycam 9 was over the scene around 7:20 a.m. when the badly damaged truck could be seen lying on its side as it blocked several lanes of traffic.
From overhead, it appeared the truck had leaked some type of liquid, though officials have not warned about any potential environmental hazards.
The crash appeared to be causing significant delays for drivers on the inbound side as crews appeared to have shut down all inbound lanes of O-55 just before the County Line Road exit.
It is unclear how long the closures and crash cleanup will take.
