TOPEKA (KSNT) – Prosecutors in Shawnee County filed charges against two local men for their alleged role in killing a 32-year-old woman from Topeka last year.
Shawnee County District Attorney Mike Kagay said in a press release on June 24 that charges have been filed against 33-year-old Julian B. Vann and 30-year-old Damian L. Lewis in connection to the death of Jessie L. Grahnert
Police were called around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 24, 2024 to the 1900 block of North Kansas Avenue on reports of a shooting in the area. Officers arriving at the scene found one person, later identified as Grahnert, dead at the scene.
The Topeka Police Department (TPD) arrested Vann and Lewis on June 17 in connection to the crime.
