The Mountain Home Fire Department is ready to move into their new fire station Tuesday. Station 2 is complete and firefighters will begin operating out of the new 10,800 square foot building which means motorists will need to be aware. Fire Chief Kris Quick says there are plans to install a traffic signal in front of the fire station on U.S. Highway 62 Business East, but it will be next year before that happens. He asks drivers obey the speed limit in the area and watch for fire trucks that may be leaving the fire station on emergency runs with their lights and sirens on.
Old Station 2
Quick says the new Station 2 is quite an upgrade from the old Station 2 on Sunset Drive which they moved into 30 years ago.

Quick says the Mountain Home Fire Department has hired three fire fighters that will start between June 30 and July 2 which will bring the total number of employees at the department to 30.
The fire department will have an open house and wetting down ceremony at the new Station 2 July 1.
