CADDO PARISH (KTAL/KMSS) – Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation is rolling a summer full of fun with the launch of its glowing Summer Bike Ride Series.
Youth and teens ages eight and up are invited to cruise through their neighborhoods in a safe and supervised environment, complete with music, friendship, and fresh air.
In collaboration with SB Rides, a Shreveport LED bike ride tour company, and Shreveport Parks and Recreation (SPAR), locals can join in on the group ride every Monday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Each session begins with a bike safety class from 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., followed by an exciting neighborhood ride beginning at 4 p.m.
Thanks to the Caddo Parish Commission, all participants will receive hydration drinks, snacks, and lunch on-site to keep riders fueled and ready to go.
No bike? No worries! Cruising bikes will be available for youth aged 12 and older, while supplies last. Riders are encouraged to bring their own bikes if possible. Children under 12 years of age will need a helmet to ride.
The first ride will take off on July 7. Participants must register for the first ride by June 26.
Registration is open online at Caddoparks.org or Caddosafesummer.org.
For questions, you can contact Recreation Coordinator LaMarcus Williams at Lwilliams@caddo.gov or 318-218-7070.
