Deputy in Louisiana ties necktie for driver during traffic stop

St. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A deputy with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office recently stopped a driver for alleged speeding on Highway 21 but also offered compassion to the driver.

In a post on the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Facebook page,

they said that Deputy Dustin Byers with the 4th District stopped the driver. The man explained that he was heading to a funeral and was having a tough day. He explained to the deputy that he couldn’t get his necktie tied correctly.

That’s when Byers decided to help him out without hesitation and tied the tie knot for the driver.

In the post, STPSO officials said, “This is a reminder that compassion still exists, even on the side of the road.”
