COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The ‘I Love Columbus, Together We’re Better Initiative,’ an effort to combat teen violence during the summer months, has already completed it’s third summer partnership with Columbus Consolidated Government’s broadcast arm (CCG-TV).

“We got to talk to them about the broadcasting aspects and let them enjoy being on television and just getting to see the ins and outs of what we do everyday,” said Christopher Gates, CCG-TV’s communications specialist.

WRBL News3 Sports Director Jack Patterson stopped by the camp to encourage kids of the next generation of broadcasters.

“I had a lot of people, who throughout my time, poured a lot into me and I just want to repay the favor by passing it down to the next generation,” said Patterson. “I really do see a future in this industry for a lot of those kids.”
