LAWRENCE (KSNT) – Jayhawk fans looking to get a unique piece of the team’s history with a special connection to its head coach have a short window to throw out some bids in an auction this summer.
KU Athletics reports that bidding is now open for the former desk of KU Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bill Self. He used the desk from August of 2009 through to April of 2023 and it bears his autograph on the inside of one of the drawers.
Self has served as head coach for the Jayhawks since 2003 and has served in the role for 22 seasons, according to KU Athletics. He is recognized as KU’s winningest coach with hundreds of career wins over the course of 32 seasons.
People can put bids down for the desk through to noon on July 10. The starting price is $5,000 with bid increments of $200. More information on the auction can be found by clicking here.
