Authorities investigating deadly crash involving suspect vehicle being sought in Camden shooting

CAMDEN, Ark. (KTVE/KARD) — Arkansas State Police are investigating a deadly crash involving a suspect vehicle that was being sought in a Camden shooting.

On June 20 at 10:26 p.m., the Camden Police Department was called to a shooting at Lincoln Center. The complainant provided authorities with a vehicle description of one of the parties allegedly involved in the shooting.

According to officers, they saw the vehicle leaving Lincoln Center and attempted to make a traffic stop. The car then fled at a high rate of speed, leaving the city on Highway 24. Authorities pursued the vehicle until they lost sight of it.

On June 21 at 12:15 a.m., a crash was reported to the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Office near Highway 24. According to authorities, they determined that the vehicle was the same car involved in the police pursuit at Lincoln Center.

During the investigation, authorities confirmed that the vehicle was occupied by two subjects, and one of the subjects was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Camden Police Department confirmed that the investigation into the shooting incident at Lincoln Center remains ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact authorities at 870-836-5755.
