“This is why we never stop warning about DUI,” CHP said on social media. “Early this morning, a suspected impaired driver entered an active construction zone and slammed into a CHP patrol vehicle. Our officers were there to protect road workers, and nearly paid the price for someone else’s reckless decision.”
CHP said that driving under the influence is not a mistake, but a choice that endangers lives.
“Never drive impaired,” CHP said. “Slow down and stay alert in construction zones. We all deserve to get home safe.”
