PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon State pitchers Ethan Kleinschmit and Dax Whitney will have the opportunity to represent Team USA at the Collegiate National Team Training Camp later this week.

The lefty Kleinschmit finished off his year holding opponents to a .194 batting average. He had an 8-5 record and 3.56 ERA, striking out 113 in 91 innings pitched. The freshman star Whitney was a key player for OSU and struck out 120 in 76 2/3 innings.

He posted a 6-3 record, 3.40 ERA, and had a 1.28 WHIP.

This camp hosts 56 of the best non-draft eligible players to play in a five-game series starting Sunday, June 29 in Kannapolis, N.C. A selected number of athletes will be chosen to play for the Collegiate National Team and represent the U.S. in the 45th USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Series.

This takes place in various locations across Japan from July 8-13. The duo will be joined by another member of the OSU baseball staff Brad Brown who will serve as Team USA’s Data and Video Analytics Specialist.
