COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – Two men are in custody and are being charged with drug trafficking after deputies with the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant and located drugs.
According to the Muscogee Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was executed by the Muscogee County Collaborative Intelligence Group, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Drug Enforcement Administration Special Response Team, which resulted in trafficking amounts of methamphetamine being seized.
The two men taken into custody were William Jones and Larry Almay as they were both charged with trafficking methamphetamine. Jones received six counts, while Almay was hit with four counts.
Items that were seized in the search were 5.3 kilograms of meth with a street value of $506,520, $20,190 in cash, four motorcycles, three vehicles, a scooter and a boat, according to the sheriff’s office.
The two men were taken to the Muscogee County Jail without incident as the investigation remains ongoing.
