(KRON) — Hundreds of people took to the streets of San Francisco and downtown San Jose Sunday afternoon to protest the Trump administration’s recent military strike on Iranian nuclear sites.
The attack, protesters say, could lock the U.S. into another war in the Middle East.
Congressman Sam Liccardo, who represents most of Silicon Valley and San Mateo County, told KRON4 that protesters should be assured that he and other leaders are doing what they can to ease global tensions.
“It’s important for us to not spike the football,” Liccardo said. “… We’ve got to do everything we can to communicate that we want to de-escalate.”
