Representative Riley Moore releases statement after Iran strike

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginia Congressman Riley M. Moore has released a statement following Saturday night’s strike on Iranian nuclear sites.

In a post to X (formerly Twitter) Representative Moore said that Donald Trump’s strike was “the right decision” and that he was grateful all military personnel were safe.

“President Trump has been clear for more than a decade: Iran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon,” the statement reads. “Now is the time for a negotiated peace settlement. I pray tonight Iran will not squander this opportunity offered by the President.”

The strike comes after increased tensions between Iran and Israel led to attacks being launched from each side. You can learn more about the conflict here.
