WASHINGTON, Ark. (KTAL/KMSS) – Historic Washington State Park is hosting a variety of activities for Independence Day weekend.
“On Friday, July 4, celebrate Independence Day with different activities throughout the park. Enjoy historical games on the 1874 Courthouse lawn, make a patriotic candle at the Candle Shop, and learn about some of the major news headlines in 19th-century Washington. Afterwards, enjoy a traditional Independence Day home-cooked meal for lunch at Williams Tavern Restaurant,” a press release stated.
A reading of the Declaration of Independence will also be held, and guests can write their own signature on a copy they can take home. Readings will be held at the 1874 Courthouse from Friday, July 4, to Sunday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
