Dyess We Care repairs military family’s home after flood damage in Clyde

CLYDE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Dyess We Care team helped a young military family that recently relocated to Clyde from another base. The family found their house in ruins with extensive flood damage.

Dyess We Care partnered with other organizations to support the family with repairs and renovations. The family needed help with ongoing drainage issues in their home.

Homeowner and U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Ivy Lawless expressed gratitude to the teams working to restore their home and provide some relief during a difficult time.

“It’s truly incredible how quickly they sought solutions for us. The entire Dyess community came together to support us, and we are very grateful for that,” Ivy said.

Ivy’s husband, Colton Lawless, a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, also commented on the work done by Dyess We Care and the other crews who assisted.

“That’s great; I would not be here, we would not be here with this house right now if it wasn’t for the Dyess We Care team and for every other coworker and military member related to come out there and help us rebuild this house, and giving donations and stuff like that. We’re just extremely grateful for this community; like I said, we wouldn’t be here in this house right now in the situation we’re in without everybody donating and helping us out,” Colton said.

Dyess We Care is now seeking professional landscaping support to help the family finish outdoor restoration and create a lasting solution for their home.
