CHICAGO — A woman is recovering in the hospital after she was shot during an argument inside a car on the city’s West Side early Saturday morning.

Officers said the incident unfolded just after 2 a.m. in the 3900 block of West Washington Boulevard in West Garfield Park.

According to police, the victim, a 21-year-old woman, was sitting in a car when she got into an argument with the alleged shooter, a female whose age is unknown.

Officers said amid the argument, the offender pulled out a gun and shot the victim twice.

Following the shooting, the person responsible got out of the car fled the scene. n arrests have been made.

Officers said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to her chest and a graze wound to the stomach and was taken to the hospital where she was listed in serious condition.

An investigation into the shooting is now underway.
