OGDEN, Utah (ABC4) — A 48-year-old woman was killed after sustaining wounds in what police believe was a “knife assault” in Ogden.

According to the Ogden Police Department, around 1:09 p.m. on Thursday, police officers were called to a report of a disturbance on the 1400 block of Washington Blvd. A female caller reportedly told officers that an “active physical altercation” was taking place.

When officers arrived, a 48-year-old female was located with critical injuries. Officers believe the injuries were sustained during a knife assault. A 25-year-old male suspect was located still on scene and detained by officers.

The 48-year-old woman was transported to the hospital, but she “tragically succumbed to her injuries,” according to police.

The Ogden Police Department believes that all persons of interest have been taken into custody and there is no threat to the public. They stated that no further details are currently available.
