JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – WJTV 12 News is giving back to the community as part the Founder’s Day of Caring, which is Nexstar’s annual company-wide day of service.

On Friday, the station partnered with Shower Power and Magnolia Recovery & Wellness.

Shower Power, located on South Congress Street in Jackson, is a nonprofit that offers help to the homeless. Members of the WJTV team helped with lunch service, passed out towels and worked in the food pantry and supply closet.

“We try to offer anything that will help somebody live outside more comfortably. Hygiene, clothing. We do IDs, we offer them, we witness to them, you know, we pour into them, and they pour back into us,” said Teresa Renkenberger, the founder of Shower Power.
