This weekend in Philly: June 21-22 🎫⚽🐍

Wawa Welcome America kicks off for a 16-day festival leading up to the 4th of July:

  • From June 19 to July 4, the Wawa Welcome America festival will feature fireworks, concerts, block parties, free museum days, parades, and more.
  • June 20:
    • Kidchella Music Festival at the Smith Memorial Playground from 4-9 p.m.
    • Free Museum Entry:
      • The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
      • Johnson House Historic Site from 12-3 p.m.
      • Historic Rittenhouse Town from 12-4 p.m.
      • Masonic Temple Library and Museum 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • June 21:
    • Avenue of the Arts Block Party on South Broad Street from 12-6 p.m.
    • Free Museum Entry:
      • Richard Allen Museum at Mother Bethel AME Church from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
      • The Print Center from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • June 22:
    • Free Museum Entry:
      • American Philosophical Society Museum from 1-4 p.m.
      • Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • For the Fans Block Party at Citizen Bank Way from 2-6 p.m.

Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square returns through August 31:

  • Opening night is on June 20
  • For 2025’s Year of the Snake, the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square will showcase magnificent giant lighted sculptures crafted from steel frames and wrapped in vibrant silk, blending light and culture. The popular 200-foot-long dragon returns along with never-before-seen giant lantern displays, with more lights, more lanterns, and more wattage than ever before. Visitors will embark on a magical journey through enchanting forest-themed displays and a radiant underwater realm, where lanterns and interactive delights showcase the splendor of China’s culture alongside diverse wildlife and vibrant marine wonders.
  • Tickets start at $16 and go up to $29 depending on age and day of visit.

Philadelphia’s Juneteenth Festival and Parade:

  • The Philadelphia Juneteenth Parade and Festival is the largest annual celebration in the nation, attended by thousands. The festival draws over 25,000 attendees for a 1.5-mile-long parade with 2,000 participants and over 20 floats.
  • The parade will start at South Concourse Drive across from the Mann Center on June 22 at 12:30 p.m.

FIFA Club World Cup continues through July 4:

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is a series consisting of 32 club teams and 63 matches over 30 days in 11 cities across the U.S.

  • Philly games this weekend:
    • June 20 at 2 p.m.: Flamengo vs. Chelsea
    • June 22 at 12 p.m.: Juventus FC vs. Wydad AC
