HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The temporary bridge closure for State Route 27 has been postponed due to the chance of rain.

Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) said the work on SR 27 over the Big Black River at the Hinds/Warren County line will now begin at 7:00 p.m. on July 11. The closure will end at 6:00 a.m. on July 14.

According to MDOT, crews will remove and replace the bridge end. Drivers should utilize an alternate route during the temporary closure.
