CHICAGO — Authorities are searching for the gunman who fatally shot a man as he was leaving a store on the South Side overnight.
According to Chicago police, the incident unfolded just after 9 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of West 63rd Street in Englewood.
Officers said the victim, a 32-year-old man, was walking out of a store in the area when a gunman approached and fired several gunshots in his direction.
Following the shooting, officers said the gunman fled the scene.
The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed and it is unclear what led up to the shooting.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and offices did not provide a description of the individual responsible.
