SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The on-ramp from Parley’s Canyon onto the northbound lanes of I-215 has been shut down following a rollover crash early Thursday morning.
Lt. Cameron Roden with Utah Highway Patrol confirmed with ABC4.com that a sedan was taking the ramp to westbound I-80 when it went off the road and down into the ravine near Parley’s Canyon just after 6 a.m.

The driver, identified only as an adult male, was ejected from the car in the crash and died at the scene. Roden said there were no other cars or individuals involved. It is currently unclear what caused the driver to go off the road.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation and traffic camera footage from the scene, investigating officials initially blocked the on-ramp onto I-215 from I-80 in Parley’s Canyon. That on-ramp has since been cleared, but Lt. Roden said the single lane ramp to Westbound I-80 remains closed
Drivers are advised to expect some delays as first responders continue to investigate and clear the scene.
