Deputies searching for man who masturbated on VTA bus

(KRON) — Passengers are allowed to use Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority busses for public transit, “not public indecency,” deputies wrote. On Wednesday, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office released video showing a man masturbating and exposing himself to several passengers who were riding on a VTA bus.

The disturbing incident happened on June 11. “At one point, he stood inches away from a woman exposing himself before walking to the front of the bus and continuing his lewd conduct next to the bus driver,” SCCSO wrote.

The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help to identify the man.

As the bus came to a stop near South King Road and Tully Road, the man assaulted the VTA bus driver and left the bus, according to the sheriff’s office.

“Sexual misconduct or assault will not be tolerated, especially toward public transit operators and passengers. Detectives from our Sexual Assault Investigations Unit are looking for leads to arrest this man,” the sheriff’s office wrote.

The suspect is a Hispanic man who is about 5’7″ tall and weighs 160 pounds, according to SCCSO. He has black hair, a beard, and mustache.
