INDIANAPOLIS — Wawa will soon officially have a store within the City of Indianapolis.

While the popular convenience store and gas station company has recently expanded throughout Indiana, officials announced plans on Tuesday to open a store within Indianapolis. Previous locations have already opened in Clarksville, Daleville and Noblesville.

Wawa Inc. said in its announcement that the Indy location will be at 3835 E. 96th Street on the city’s north side. The grand opening will be held on Thursday, July 10.

“We are grateful to the Indiana community for embracing us with open wings when we opened our first three stores in May,” said Wawa President Brian Schaller. “We are excited to continue to serve the Indiana community with our first store in the City of Indianapolis.”

The Indianapolis location will be the first Wawa to open in Marion County. The store is the fourth of eight Wawa stores slated to open in Indiana by the end of 2025, with new locations also coming to Brownsburg, Cumberland, Plainfield and Westfield.

“With each new store, we bring our unique combination of fresh food and beverage, convenience and service to local communities,” Schaller said, “And we extend our commitment to being a good neighbor through community partnerships.”

Wawa officials say they plan to open 8-12 stores per year throughout the state, with a goal of having 60 locations in Indiana by 2031. The company said each store, on average, creates 35 jobs, with Wawa expecting to contribute 2,000 long-term jobs across the state.
