METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — The Saints Hall of Fame revealed the two players who will be inducted into the 2025 Hall of Fame class.
Inductees are safety Brett Maxie and cornerback Tracy Porter.
Porter played for the Saints from 2008-2011 after New Orleans selected him in the second round, 40th overall, of the 2008 draft.
The Port Allen native’s pick-six against Peyton Manning and the Colts in the team’s Super Bowl XLIV victory is arguably the biggest play in franchise history. His interception against Brett Favre and the Vikings in the NFC championship game that season sent the game to overtime and helped lift New Orleans to its first Super Bowl appearance.
Maxie played nine seasons for the Saints (1985-1993). In 118 games, he had 15 interceptions and returned three of them for touchdowns.
The Saints Hall of Fame also honored former WGNO Sports Director Ed Daniels with the Joe Gemelli “Fleur de Lis” Award.
Daniels covered the Saints for more than 40 years and served as a color analyst for the Saints’ preseason radio broadcasts from 1995 to 1999, and was an original member of the Saints Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
Porter and Maxie will officially be inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in December.
