NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — If you’ve been wanting an upscale dinner, Desi Vega’s Steakhouse may be the spot for you. During Restaurant Week, you can try some of the restaurant’s signature dishes at a great price.
JD Dakessian is the Beverage Director at Desi Vega’s Steakhouse. He says the restaurant typically gets a lot of power lunches, business meetings and even special occasion meals.
During Restaurant Week, the restaurant is offering a lunch menu as well as dinner.
“We have a great menu for Restaurant Week,” said Dakessian. “So, for lunch, we’re doing Miss Barbara’s Meatballs. It’s Desi’s mom’s homemade recipe served with some fresh garlic bread. Then, we’re rolling into our second course, which will be our fish of the day. It’ll be pan seared red fish served over a vegetable medley topped with jumbo lump crab meat with a lemon butter sauce. We’ll finish it off with a nice house chocolate mousse cake.”
The dinner menu is the same, except it will include the Who Dat Shrimp as well. The shrimp are wrapped in bacon, stuffed with crab meat, fried and then topped with chipotle rum and a sweet Thai chili sauce.
“I love the Who Dat Shrimp,” said Dakessian. “It’s arguably the best appetizer in the city.”
Desi Vega’s is located at 628 St. Charles Ave., overlooking Lafayette Square.
