MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (FOX 56) — A crash involving an officer with the Middlesboro Police Department (MPD) is under investigation by state police.
According to a news release from Kentucky State Police (KSP), around 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, a chase involving an MPD officer ended in a crash, and troopers were requested to assist.
Middlesboro officers were reportedly pursuing Jason Bullins in connection with active parole violation and burglary warrants.
When police approached Bullins, he allegedly ran, leading to the chase.
State police wrote that the crash occurred in the area of South 35th Street and Exeter Avenue. Both Bullins and an MPD officer were injured and taken to Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital for treatment. Neither Bullins’ nor the officer’s conditions were listed.
KSP is reportedly leading the crash investigation, while the MPD takes charge of the criminal investigation.
