A historic theater along the main line has been closed since the pandemic, but bringing the Anthony Wayne Theater on Lancaster avenue back to life is a serious goal of some local investors.
The Anthony Wayne Theater organization which is a non-profit says the goal is to bring back the spark of the 97 year old theater.
“It’ll have live performance, it will have first run movies, it’ll have art house movies, it’ll have talks, comedy. There will be a lot of things here that you won’t find in other theaters,” said Todd Scott, president of Anthony Wayne Theater organization.
Scott says the goal is to open in 2026, but that is largely dependent on donations and funding for the project.
