BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — New data from Meta shows more than 35,000 small businesses across Louisiana use AI to stay competitive, help manage rising costs, and address ongoing supply chain issues.
Meta’s new study shows its technologies boosted the U.S. economy and were linked to almost $550 billion in economic activity and created 3.4 million jobs in 2024.
According to the report, over 320,000 businesses in Louisiana are active on Facebook. Almost 98% of these are small or medium-sized. Twenty-eight percent of those are located in rural parts of the state.
The report also shows that 40% of these businesses use AI to advertise, 25% use it to communicate with customers, and 9% rely on it to boost employee productivity.
Meta has launched new resources for business owners. This includes the recent Meta AI app. They also offer virtual and in-person AI training events to help small businesses use new technologies.
