ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) — A 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred last week at a business in the 200 block of Bolton Avenue, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
The incident happened around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, when police responded to reports of an attempted robbery. During the encounter, the store clerk fired several shots at the suspect, who fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
On Tuesday, June 17, Alexandria police arrested the juvenile suspect. The teen is charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of juvenile in possession of a handgun, and one count of simple burglary.
The department credited help from the public for identifying the suspect and aiding in the arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
